THE J APARTMENT
The project deals with small apartment on the third floor of a small scale three-floor 70’ apartment building at Lofos Skuze neighborhood close to the center of Athens.
The apartment has been vastly renovated. The entrance hall connects the kitchen with the living room, which comprise one open space. The main objective has been to create a common living place while at the same time isolating the private space of the bedroom.
A lot of Japanese elements have been assimilated on the design process. The interior doors and windows abide by the Japanese partitioned curtained walls. Additionally painting with Japanese context like cranes, Japanese temples etc. have been integrated onto these partitions.
The color palette has been using earth colors as well as light greys. Quarz mortar has been use onto the central wall of the apartment, giving it a touch of a green-maroon color. Pine tree wood has been used on door frames as well as on fixed shelves.
